LET’S INSPIRE, TOGETHER

Our full range of workshops for inspiring creativity and growing film-making skills.

It begins with an idea.

We don’t aim to teach a singular definition of creativity or film-making, but instead strive to nurture our students’ means of exploring their own ideas.

The Pitch.

Our aim is to inspire creativity in students so that they can then apply what they have discovered about themselves to all facets of life. Creativity is a powerful tool in a humans arsenal, and it doesn’t only apply to film-making, writing or art. So first things first, we aim to nurture and develop their creative abilities.

Secondly, we endlessly endeavour to inspire the next generation of artists, be that film-makers, writers, photographers or more. With our workshops focusing on film-making techniques, we hope it either fuels the next generation of film-makers to create original works, or unearths a side to the students that engages their ideas and enables them to communicate their unique artistic voice through visual (or audible) means.

With over two decades of combined film-making and creative writing experience between us, we have designed three stages* of workshop. These stages are; Basic, Intermediate and Advanced.

Continue reading for a breakdown of what each stage offers.

*each stage can be purchased individually, with one other, or all together as our Full Package.

Basic Stage | 1 hr

2. Section highlighting the positive impact of heightened creativity in other fields.

3. Basic breakdown of The Writing Process.

4. Creative exercise 1: Scene outline - The children/students are tasked with coming up with a brief scene outline which utilizes the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY points.

5. Basic breakdown of The Directing Process.

6. Creative exercise 2: Photography - The children/students are given a sentence to explore visually, thinking about how to apply the WHAT, WHY and HOW points.

Intermediate Stage | 1.5 hrs

1. Writing Method - Tips for brainstorming and inspiring ideas, basic screenplay formatting, industry example of each point (WHO, WHAT, WHERE etc) in the Writing Process.

3. Learning how to plan your shots - Storyboarding and shot-listing.

4. Creative exercise 4: From paper to screen - Shoot a scene that we have written. This is exciting as it shows how everyone perceives a story differently and applies their individuality to it.

5. Review the 2 activities, providing feedback and exploring the caverns of creativity the student’s have began to unearth.

Advanced Stage | 2 hrs

1. Professional screenplay formatting - Understanding how to construct an industry standard script using recognised software.

2. Writing dialogue for film & TV.

3. Reviewing a finished script and peer feedback - Tips for how to take a step back and review your project objectively, and how to receive and apply feedback.

4. Directing Method - Use of colour, mise en scène, directing actors, collaborating with crew, understanding the rules and how to break them.

5. Production Roles in more detail - A more in depth look at the various roles on set, the characters/skills required for each.

6. Post-Production Overview - The job of an editor, and the creative aspects of the role.
